EOC accounts are for staff of an emergency operations center: county, city, tribal or state, including ARES and RACES operators working the EOC’s net.
How you get it
Choose EOC under Change account type on the Account tab and fill in the request:
- EOC name, agency type, the area it serves and the state
- your job title, work phone and work email
- the agency website, and optionally the EOC director and your callsign
Your work email has to be confirmed by link before you can submit. No email
address grants EOC on its own, .gov included: an admin reviews every
request, and approves it, declines it, or asks for more. Any note they leave
shows on the form. You can withdraw a request while it waits.
When approved, your account is linked to your EOC.
What EOC operators can do
- Relay reports for spotters on your net. When a spotter calls in a report by radio or phone, you file it for them, under your EOC’s name.
- Relaying works while your EOC is verified and its relaying is switched on. An admin can pause relaying for a whole EOC without removing anyone.
An EOC account does not file reports of its own. If you also want to report what you see yourself, pass a spotter exam; you can hold both.
