Every National Weather Service alert for one place you care about, with no card and no expiry.
Start freeLife-saving warnings, always free
Every National Weather Service alert, the live map, the apps, push, email and webhooks are free on every account with no card and no expiry. A plan buys more places to watch, more people to wake, and the two channels we pay a carrier for.
For a household
Your addresses, and the people at them
For a household with more than one address to watch: the house, the school, the place the horses are.
For an organization
When it is not just your own roof
More of everything a household plan has, because a site wakes a shift rather than a family: more addresses, more people at each of them, and the allowance to text all of them.
Ten sites, and five people at each of them, so the alert reaches whoever is actually standing there.
Fifty sites and ten people at each, for an operator whose list of addresses is longer than a page.
More sites than a list, or delivery we have to talk about first. Quoted rather than listed.
Talk to usPhone calls are included on every paid plan
A call gets through Do Not Disturb, reaches a landline, and wakes people a buzz does not. Every plan above shows it for everybody on the account, with nothing else to buy and nothing to renew separately.
On the free plan they are the one thing you can buy on its own, because there is no subscription to fold them into.Comparable services charge $15 to $40 a year.
You can tune your preferences per phone number to alert on what is needed. Tornado on phone 1, severe weather on phone 2.
Everything, side by side
What is in each plan
There is a plan for everyone, and the alerts themselves are always free.

Or neither
You can still donate
A plan buys capacity for you. A donation buys alerts for somebody who cannot afford them. We do not push nag screens and never will: people get alerts from us because of the generosity of other people. Ingest, push notifications and the lightning feed cost money every month and the free tier is the whole point, so the gap is real and somebody is covering it.
Neither one is tax-deductible. We are a Florida not-for-profit corporation and not a registered charity, and we would rather say that here than have you find it out at tax time.
The small print, unabbreviated
Things worth knowing before you pay
What happens to my supporter tier?
Nothing. Existing supporters keep what they were promised, on a grandfathered rung, for as long as the subscription runs. Supporter keeps its five saved places; Sustainer and Patron keep the limits Pro carries. Nobody is moved to a smaller plan or asked to pay more for what they already have.
What counts as one recipient?
A person, not a phone number. Group somebody's mobile, their landline and their email address under their name and they are one recipient however many ways they are reachable. An ungrouped number is a recipient of its own, because nothing has said otherwise and guessing that two numbers belong to the same person is a guess that would quietly sell you less than you paid for.
Do I have to buy calls separately?
Only on the free plan, where they are $14.99 a year. Every paid plan includes them, for everybody on the account, at no extra charge. A per-person annual add-on made no sense for an operator with fifty handsets and a monthly subscription, which is what changed.
Is a subscription a donation?
No, and the difference is worth being plain about. A subscription buys capacity for you: more places, more recipients, more messages. A donation buys alerts for somebody who is not paying. Both keep the service running and only one of them gets you anything, which is exactly why we would rather you knew which one you were doing.
Is any of it tax-deductible?
No. WX Alerts, Inc. is a Florida not-for-profit corporation, not a registered charity. There is no IRS tax-exempt determination, so neither a subscription nor a donation is deductible. You get an itemized receipt either way.
What does a text-message allowance actually mean?
It is messages sent, counted per month, across every place and everybody on the account. A place with three people who all want texts fires three messages. Running out does not stop the alert: push, email, webhooks and phone calls carry on, free.
Can I cancel?
Yes, from the account page, and it takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. Your saved places and rules are not deleted when a subscription ends; the account drops to the free limits and the places over that limit stop sending until you are back under it or back on a plan.
