Transitive dependencies
The packages above pull in others. At the time of writing the installed tree carries 396 packages with a declared licence, effectively all of them permissive:
| Licence | Packages |
|---|---|
| MIT | 343 |
| ISC | 14 |
| BSD-3-Clause | 10 |
| BSD-2-Clause | 10 |
| Apache-2.0 | 6 |
| Other (BlueOak, MPL-2.0, CC0, 0BSD, LGPL, Python-2.0) | 13 |
Almost all of these are build-time. The authoritative list for any given release is the package-lock.json in the site's repository, which pins every version; for the full licence text of a specific package, ask at [email protected] and we will send it.
Data and cartography
Not software, but attribution that carries the same weight:
- Basemap:
© OpenStreetMap contributors, © Protomaps. The basemap is a Protomaps cut of the OpenStreetMap planet. OpenStreetMap data is licensed under the Open Database License, which requires this credit wherever the map is shown, including on maps you build with our tiles. It is not ours to waive. - Weather data: NOAA and the National Weather Service. Alerts, NEXRAD radar, and GOES satellite and GLM lightning data originate from public government sources and are generally in the public domain. WxAlerts is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official product of NOAA or the NWS. See Terms §4.3.
- Derived products. Nowcasts, processed lightning, radar mosaics and threat objects are WxAlerts products, are experimental, and are not official NWS output. If you redistribute them, say so; see API Terms §7.
Our own code
WxAlerts is developed in the open. The site, the API, and the integrations are on GitHub, each under the licence in its own repository. Corrections to this page, whether a missing notice, a wrong copyright line or a dependency we have not listed, are genuinely welcome: open an issue, or write to [email protected].
